A volume containing the winning works of the Kisfaludy Társaság's competition. The first one, Toldi, is perhaps Hungarian literature's most famous narrative poem. In 1846, the Society announced a tender for a folk epic, the winning of which brought Arany both national fame and Petőfi's friendship.
