The work is the author's only – not very successful – novel. It was written in the spring of 1846 in Szalkszentmárton, where Petőfi’s parents rented an inn and a slaughterhouse. This period is called the poet's crisis stage in the history of literature.
Rare, original hardpaper. Spine restored. Leaves slightly stained.
