The document testifies that the aforementioned person is democratic, left-wing, anti-German, and has been well known to the signatories for years. As a former soldier, he also facilitated the escape of forced labourers. During the persecutions, he contributed to the escape and hiding of those involved, endangering his own safety and that of his family. During the siege, he hid several writers, and many of them owe their lives to him.
