The author was an Augustinian monk. The dictionary was first published in 1502. The first encounter with the Hungarian interpretation appears in the ten-language version of 1585. This is its first edition in eleven languages. "With its thousands of Hungarian words, it far surpassed the glossaries published until then and became the source of later Hungarian dictionary literature. As a result of the debates surrounding the authorship of the Hungarian interpretation, Szily's theory was accepted, according to which it was the work of Péter Csókás Laskai and two Hungarian students studying in Wittenberg."
