The work of the Italian Giovanantonio Menavino, who was in Turkish captivity between 1504 and 1514, which was first published in 1548. This is its first abridged, octavo edition of Lonicer’s collection of Turkish history. Previously published in 1578 as a three-volume folio set with woodcuts attributed to Jost Amman.
