Angliae, Scotiae, et Hiberniae, sive Britannicar(um) Insularum Descriptio.
Map of the British Isles — oriented to the west — from the 1595 Latin edition of Abraham Ortelius's "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum". Based on the 1564 map of Gerard Mercator and regional depictions of Humphrey Llwyd and Christopher Saxton. The engraver added two cartouches, the royal coat of arms and a nautical chart divider, and illustrated his work with several sailing galleons. Latin text on the back. Dimensions: 345 x 500 (420 x 510) mm. Fine, clean copy. Slightly cropped on the two sides (the printed area not affected).
