Jakob Alt és Rudolf von Alt munkái nagy hatással voltak a magyar városábrázolás alakulására. Különösen a fiú, Rudolf részletes, pontos rajzai, festői hatású városképei töltöttek be jelentős szerepet a városkép-litográfia fejlődésében. Magyar szempontból ez az egyik
legfontosabb művük, a fővárosról megjelent első önálló képes album. A kőnyomatokat Rudolf von Alt rajzai nyomán Franz Xaver Sandmann készítette.
Kopott aranyozású, kiadói vászonkötésben.
