Description: Kocsár Miklós, Hungarian composer. After attending the Debrecen Music School he became a pupil of Farkas at the Liszt Academy of Music (1954–9). From 1963 he was director of music and conductor at the Madách Theatre. He joined the staff of the Budapest Conservatory, and served as head of composition there; he was head of the music section of Hungarian Radio. He has received the Erkel Prize twice, the title Artist of Merit and the Bartók-Pásztory Prize.
