Zsolnay Tulip Chalice
Wheel-thrown white ceramic shaped and patterned with hand. Painted with transparent eosin glaze and acid-treated, opaque, metallescent eosin glazes, gold lustre decoration on leaves. Design: 1898 Chalice map-cracked, smaller flaw repaired, one supporting leaf restored. Marked on bottom: pressed in clay Zsolnay Pécs and 5144 (form number from 1898), pressed in clay M, and painted round, stamp-like dot-row branding. Zsolnay, Pécs, 1902.
