Zsolnay Figural Ornamental Plate
Serving plate pressed in shape and created from hand-shaped parts. Bacchanalia scene on rim. Multi-layer, transparent and red-painted eosin glazes on surface. Design: Sándor Apáti Abt, 1902. ABT artist’s mark on rim of plate. Fire-cracked, neck of middle figure restored. Marked: pressed in clay 6619 (form number), and round, embossed, stamp-like branding. Zsolnay, Pécs, 1902 S.: 43 × 28.7 × 28.5 cm Analogy: Éva Csenkey - Éva Hárs - Árpád Weiler: Zsolnay, Collector’s Book, Corvina, 2003.
