Zsolnay Ornamental Jug with Lid
Porcelain ware cast in shape. Embossed oriental flower decorations and firebird illustration among sculptural elements on surface. Gilded, painted with coloured metalescent glazes creating a quicksilvering effect (supposedly experimental glazing). Pouring lip restored. Design supposedly by Tádé Sikorski. Marked on bottom: pressed in clay Pécs Zsolnay 3278 (form number) and five-towers painted with gold. Zsolnay, Pécs, around 1890. H.: 44.2 cm
