Typus Orbis Descriptione Ptolemaei
Woodcut map of the Ptolemaic world (Vienne, 1541). This version of Waldseemüller’s world map was first issued by Fries in Strasbourg in 1522 without the wind-heads. These were included in Michael Servetus’ first edition, but the title was not added until this edition. A segment is missing from the top right-hand corner of the block. Mérete: 300 x 460 (400 x 535) mm. Fine, clear copy.
