John Tyndall (Leighlinbridge, 1820. – Hindhead, 1893.) Írországban született brit fizikus. Felsőbb tanulmányait Marburgban és Berlinben végezte. Kutatási területe: fénytan, hangtan. Magyarul csak: A hő mint a mozgás egyik neme (1872) c. munkáját publikálták. Ezen, hangtannal foglalkozó tanulmányait most német fordításban tanulmányozhatjuk.
Korabeli félvászon-kötésben, aranyozott gerinccímmel, gyűjteményi duplum.
