A mai napig létező ökumenikus folyóiratot 1925-ben alapította Csikesz Sándor a Debreceni Tisza István Egyetem teológiai professzora, az egyetem rektora. A cél az volt, hogy a tiranoni határokon átívelve fórumot teremtsen az egész Kárpát-medencei eszmecsere számára.
