Szenczi Molnár Albert: Lexicon Latino-Graeco-Ungaricum... Item Dictionarium Ungarico-Latinum... Item Syllecta scholastica clarorum Virorum...
Norimbergae, (1645.) Apud Wolfangum Mauritium Endterum. (4)+1030+368+(2)+44+63+(1)p. 1 leaf of the last work (42-43p.) folding.
This edition is published with an unknown title page variant. The reference book (RMNy) describes two versions, and this one is entirely different from those.
Publishing colligate. This Latin dictionary is the first significant work of the Transylvanian polymath and was first published in 1604 in Nuremberg. Later, it was revised and expanded with Greek, followed by the 1611 and then the 1621 editions. Each part has independent title pages (based on this, Károly Szabó included it in his reference book as three independent prints). The content and arrangement of the first, main part is the same as that of the 1621 edition. At the end of the second part (Dictionarium Ungarico-Latinum) is the administrative division of Hungary and Transylvania, and a list of the monarchs. The third part (Syllecta scholastica) is an educational methodology manual, and the fourth (Institutio juventutis) – which is not mentioned on the title page – describes school curriculum instructions. The latter two were also marketed independently. The year 1644 is printed on three title pages, so the individual parts were already printed then, but the work was not published in its entirety until 1645. Unlike the others, the title page of the Latin-Hungarian dictionary reads "Francofurti", and the printer's name ("typis Antonii Hummii") is also written.
Slightly worn, wood-boarded, blind-stamped, contemporary leather with clasps.
