Robert William Seton-Watson (1879–1951) brit történész és politikai aktivista, aki az előzéklapon szereplő Scotus Viator álnéven is írt. Jelentős történeti kutatásokat folytatott és forrásértékű munkákat publikált a szlovák, a délszláv és a román történelem vonatkozásában. 1905-től az Osztrák-Magyar Monarchia történetét tanulmányozta Bécsben, ekkor még a magyarokkal szimpatizált, de ez a műve, amely eredetileg 1908-ban jelent meg, már megváltozott véleményéről árulkodik.
Poss. könyvtári pecsét. A kötéstáblán Szidiropulosz Archimedesz ex librisével. Egészvászon-kötésben, a gerincen felirattal és ráragasztott könyvtári jelzettel. Jó állapotú példány.
