A kötet lapjai tiszták, a tipográfiája különösen szép.
Marcus Fabius Quintilianus római rétor, tanár. Legjelentősebb
munkája, melynek halhatatlanságát is köszönheti, az Institutio
Oratoria, azaz Szónoklattana. Az Institutio Oratoria a legnagyobb
szabású antik retorikai tankönyv, módszeresség és alaposság vonatkozásában
a mai egyetemi tankönyvek ősének tekinthető.
A címlapon Ernst Lajos tulajdonosi bélyegzésével.
Korabeli egészpergamen kötésben, a hátsó táblán Lippaí György esztergomi érsek superexlibrisével.
