Monika Verhoeven is a contemporary Austrian artist who works primarily as a sculptor. She studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna (decorative design and textiles with Margarethe Rader-Soulek. The year 1985 marks the beginning of her sculptural work. From 1991 to 1996 Verhoeven was a founding member of the Vienna Kunstverein Figur, since 2000 she has been a lecturer in sculpture at the University of Applied Arts. The artist was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art in 2002. Verhoeven lives and works in Vienna.
