Mária Turán Hacker was a Hungarian painter and a pianist. Her son László Turán also became a pianist. Mária Turán Hacker graduated from the girls' high school in Budapest and then earned a certificate as a drawing teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts. At the same time she was a student of Kálmán Chovan at the Music Academy and received a teaching diploma with distinction. She then studied painting in Munich, Paris and Nagybánya. After returning home, she made her debut at the Műcsarnok (Budapest Art Hall) with the painting Házépítez a Rózsadom.
