Maximilian Kern (1877. - 1945.) német újságíró, író. A 20. század elején Maxmilian Kern a „Der Gute Kamerad” ifjúsági magazinnak dolgozott, de ugyanakkor írt a Das Neue Universum ifjúsági könyvsorozatnak is. Később az Ullstein-Verlagnál dolgozott, 1929-ig a „Koralle” folyóirat főszerkesztője volt. 1905-től Kern egy sor egzotikus kalandkönyvet írt és adott ki fiúknak, amelyek a stuttgarti Union Verlagnál jelentek meg. A Fo szeme c. kötet is ezek sorába illeszkedik.
