Keresztury József Alajos (1755-1825) történész, a Nagyváradi Királyi Katolikus Jogakadémia történelemtanára. Latin nyelvű egyetemes történelmi áttekintése három kötetben jelent meg, kötetünk a teljes mű önmagában is megálló, első része. A szerző a történelemírás korszakolási és elbeszélési problémáinak tárgyalása után Ádámtól Augustus koráig tárgyalja a világtörténelem menetét, az egyiptomi, zsidó, görög, perzsa és római idők tárgyalásával.
Példányunk első két, illetve utolsó négy levele japán papírral javított, első három íve levelén a szövegtörzs alatt halvány foltosság, a további levelek alján halvány vízfoltosság.
Javított, restaurált korabeli kartonkötésben, későbbi papírtokban.
