With the following inscription by the author on the flyleaf: „Kis Ferencnek barátsággal Bp. 1934. dec. 15. József Attila”.
The recipient of the dedication was a friend of the poet. They first met in the fall of 1934, the year Attila József returned to Budapest. The work was published in early December, and based on the date of the inscription, Ferenc Kis may have been among the first to receive it.
