The painter Franz Eigner was born in Voitsberg in 1931. He was self-taught and completed training as a secondary school teacher in Graz. In 1962 he was accepted into the secession under Pointner. He exhibited internationally in many exhibitions and received the Gold Medal of Honor from the State of Styria in 2011.
