A szerző (1905 –1942.) zsidóként született, de már 8 évesen konvertált az iszlám hitre. Az orosz bolsevik forradalom győzelme után emigrált, később Mussolini oltalma alatt lelt új hazára. Műveiben egy sajátos, jobboldali, „orientalista-cionizmus” eszméit hirdette, a szemita népek összefogását sürgetve a bolsevizmus elleni harcban. A „Mohamed” az egyik legjobb magyar nyelven elérhető iszlám monográfia.
