Rónay János Jácint (1814-1889, Leitzinger 1848-ig) pozsonyi nagyprépost, választott szkodári püspök, bencés tanár, természettudós, író, az MTA tagja. Lélektannal, azon belül a karakterológiával foglalkozott. A darwinizmus magyarországi megismertetője és első terjesztője. Kossuth gyermekeinek, valamint Rudolf trónörökösnek és Mária Valéria főhercegnőnek nevelője. A természettudós segített Gróf Széchenyi Istvánnak „Ein Blick”-je kiadásában. Véleményezésre elküldte ezt a művét Széchenyinek, akinek megtetszett a munka és viszonzásképpen kiadatta Rónay művét. Korabeli félvászon-kötésben, felirattal, jó állapotban.
