Zimmer Ferenc a Központi Vásárcsarnok legtekintélyesebb halkereskedője, nevéhez fűződik a fogas magyarországi elterjesztése.
A könyv 308. oldalán a szerző által „alkotott” s nevét viselő dobostorta receptje. A híres pesti cukrászmester, amikor 1884-ben elkészítette ezt az édességet, célja az volt, hogy olyan tortát készítsen, amely a kor kissé elmaradott hűtési technikái mellett is hosszú ideig fogyasztható és élvezhető marad.
Aranyozott, modern egész-nyl kötésben.
