Philipp Clüver (1580-1622) német geográfus és történész, akit a történeti-politikai földrajz megalapítójának tartanak. Legfontosabb művei közé tartozik az 1624-ben megjelent „Introductio in Universam Geographiam (Bevezetés az egyetemes földrajzba)”. A hat könyvből az első általában a Földdel foglalkozik, de hírnevét inkább a fennmaradó öt könyv alapozta meg. Rövid leírásokat tartalmaznak az országokról, hangsúlyt fektetve az emberi és történelmi szemléletre.
Korabeli, bordázott gerincű egészpergamen-kötésben, festett lapszélekkel. Előzékén Vachalek József váradvelencei (nagyváradi) lelkész poss. bejegyzése. (9×16 cm)
