Felix von Schumachernek dedikálva!
A szerző (1900–1974) magyar származású francia diplomata, újságíró. Kétszer is megfosztották magyar állampolgárságától, előszőr a Sztójay-kormány idején, majd 1947-ben Rajk László kezdeményezésére. 1954-ben Hubert Beuve-Méryvel létrehozták a Le Monde diplomatique című francia nyelvű külpolitikai havilapot, ennek főszerkesztője maradt nyugdíjazásáig. A fenti könyve Magyarország politikájának történetéről, másik, szintén franciául megjelent műve Erdély helyzetéről szól.
