Émile Bourgeois (1857-1934) francia történész, a Sorbonne történelem professzora. A 17. század kutatásának elismert szaktekintélye volt. A kötet a „nagy francia évszázaddal” foglalkozik, amely XIV. Lajos francia király uralkodását jelöli. Első kiadása Párizsban jelent meg (Hachette et Cie, 1896.).
Kiadói, aranyozott egészvászon-kötésben, szép állapotban, gyűjteményi duplum.
