New York, 1940. The Limited Editions Club. [A. Colish] [6] + 86 + [2] p. + 6 t. fametszet (Buday György) Ez a kötet az 1175. számú.
A New York-i Limited Editions Club 1929. október 23-án kezdte meg működését, azon a napon, amikor a klub első kötete, a „Gulliver” megjelent és a gazdasági világválság elkezdődött. Az alapító George Macy (1900-56), a Columbia Egyetemen végezte tanulmányait. Vállalkozásához 1500 klubtagot (előfizetőt) verbuvált, és azt tűzte ki célul, hogy havonta egy irodalmi értékű, illusztrált könyvet jelentet meg igényes kivitelben, a szerző vagy az illusztrátor aláírásával, 1500 számozott példányban. Néhány év elteltével a jelentkezők száma a többszörösére duzzadt, és új klubtag szinte csak „kihalásos alapon” lehetett valaki. /Studio, 2003.12. 75. tétel/
Kiadói félvászon-kötésben, szecessziós mintázatú kötéstáblával. Jó példány.
