Julia Pardoe (1806-162) angol írónő, több érdekes úti beszámolót írt Portugáliáról, Törökországról. 1839-ben Bécset és Magyarországot látogatta meg, ahol, mint már neves írót mind az udvarnál, mind a politika és az irodalom előkelő férfiai (Eötvös, Deák), kitüntető szívességgel fogadták. Magyarországi utazásainak eredménye lett a „The city of the Magyar or Hungary and its Institutions in 1839 and 1840” című meglehetős tájékozottsággal, és nemzetünk iránt nagy rokonszenvvel írt munkája.
A három rész egybekötve, korabeli, dúsan aranyozott gerincű, bordázott, félbőr-kötésben, erezett lapszélekkel. Poss. Teleki könyvtár.
