Schams Ferenc (1780-1839) szőlészeti és borászati szakíró, művében részletesen ismerteti a magyar szőlő- és borvidékek állapotát és sajátosságait, tanácsokat ad a megfelelő szőlőfajták kiválasztásához, telepítéséhez, ápolásához, a borok kezeléséhez. A magyar bortermelés legégetőbb problémájának a pontos fajtaismeret és leírás hiányát tartotta. Elsőként tanulmányozta tudományos igénnyel a magyar és osztrák borvidékeken honos szőlőfajtákat, és évtizedes országjárása során igyekezett is mindet begyűjteni. A szőlőfajta-keveredések felszámolására korában egyedülálló venyigeiskolát alapított, új szőlőtermesztési módszereket mutatott be, valamint megindította az első magyarországi szőlőtermesztési és borászati folyóiratot, magyar és német nyelven. Pestről és Budáról írt helytörténeti munkái is forrásértékűek. (Studio, 41/133.) Ideje lenne egy magyar fordításnak.
Két egységes, modern kartonkötésben, körülvágatlan, enyhén rozsdafoltos lapokkal, gerinceken címkével. Jó és ritka példány.
