Budapest, 1847. [Heckenast], Franklin. 1 t. (lith. díszcímlap) + [4] + 257 + [4] p. + 7 lith. t. (egy színes). A kőnyomatos díszcímlapon az eredeti kiadó felülragasztott címkével javítva, a címlapon és a kötéstáblán Franklin szerepel. A megjelenés dátumát nem tudjuk pontosítani, de a kiadó 1873-ban vette fel Benjamin Franklin nevét, a megmaradt példányokat ezidőtájt adhatták ki. A rajzokat Grimm Vince készítette és Walzel nyomta Pesten.
Haeufler (1810-1852) jogi végzettsége ellenére, mint topográfus, történész és néprajzkutató jeleskedett és tudományos érdeklődéssel fordult a magyar történelem felé. E munkája is elfogulatlan és hiánypótló kötet.
