A felvilágosodás tudományos életének különleges figurája volt Johann Michael von Loen (1694–1776) német író, tudós és államférfi. A vallási dogmatizmus, a hierarchia és a szertartásosság ellenzőjeként számos provokáló vallási és politikai írást publikált, köztük az Igaz ember az udvarban, avagy Rivera gróf emlékiratai ( Der Redliche Mann am Hofe, 1740) című regényt, melyet a német felvilágosodás első jelentős regényének tartanak. Házassága révén Goethe nagybátyja volt.
Possessor: A borító belsején a Grassalkovich család címere.
Korabeli, aranyozott gerincű egészbőr kötés. Piros lapélekkel.
