Hugo Grotius (1583–1645) németalföldi államférfi, jogász. Legfontosabb munkája, a „De jure belli ac pacis” (A háború és béke jogáról) először 1625-ben jelent meg. Könyve az első mű, mellyel szerzője megteremtette a modern nemzetközi jog alapjait.
Dúasan aranyozott gerincű, korabeli egészbőr-kötésben, címkével, lapszélei festettek.
A lapokon néhány helyen szúrágás nyomai. Megkímélt példány.
