No biographical details are known about the illustrator Conrad Weißenegger. This drawing was created for the Munich-based magazine "Radfahr-Humor," founded in 1887 by the mechanical engineer and bicycle enthusiast Heinrich Hildebrand. Perhaps the most important illustrator to work for "Radfahr-Humor" was Emil Kneiß (1867–1956). The "Hildebrand & Wolfmüller" motorbike, initiated by Hildebrand and introduced in 1894 (production period 1894–1995), was the world's first mass-produced motorbike. "Radfahr-Humor" was discontinued in 1901. The drawing is from the graphic collection of Friedrich Wilhelm Denzel, Munich. Further styles and artists: Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Vuelta a Espana, Mailand-Sanremo, Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Giro di Lombardia

PLEASE NOTE:
The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights. In the case of normal taxation (marked ° at the estimate), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium. This amounts to 13% for paintings, drawings, graphic works and sculptures and 20% for photographs and all other items.
The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
