A szerző jezsuita tanár volt, a nagyszombati akadémián bölcseletet, majd a pesti egyetemen fizikát tanított. Makó Pál mellett a kor legjelentősebb magyar fizikatankönyv-írója volt. Munkáit külföldön is kiadták és használták. Ez a fő műve, amely 1767-ben jelent meg először, a „Physica particularis” címet viselő másik résszel együtt számos kiadást megért.
Korabeli vászonkötésben, felragasztott újabb címkével, festett lapszélekkel.
